R.J. Matson, The New York Observer and Roll Call , 9/14/08 This image shows how bold and tough Sarah Palin is even if she is a woman. She knows exactly what she wants and she sets out to get it.Palin is demonstrating that woman can do almost anything and everything a man could do even if it includes hunting. I believe that in order to make the government work better it must include both strong men and women. With this historic choice Sen. McCain has clearly shown his commitment to including every voice in our society.Palin is an independent leader and doesn't pay to mind the fact that our society criticizes how she wouldn't be a good vice president. For instance, democrats believe that Palin doesn't have any experience regarding foreign policies.

Some statements made were connected with the cartoon, but there was no explicit reference to anything in the cartoon/image. The first paragraph was more of an opinion of what you thought the cartoon meant, and what Palin means to you. The statements made would be convincing if connected and elaborated in conjuncture with the image. The meaning of the words "social conservatives" gives important evidence of what the cartoon could mean. Palin being in command and a hunter might be seen as irony since it sort of flips traditional roles of men and women, especially in politics. From this more generalized thoughts might be concluded, such as Palin showing herself to be a strong leader(as you said). In a unique view, the shrubbery seems to be labeled"conservatives", and looks to be miles of "sameness". The author could be suggesting that McCain is eating away conservatives. It could also be a positive relation of McCain being a part of nature (conservatives). It might even be a reflection of Palin making positive change, perhaps protecting nature. All in all, the main focus as you mentioned several times is Palin and McCain.
