In this cartoon, a line of new college graduates are seen collecting their degrees. As they walk off stage with smiling faces they are met with an uninspected cliff with a sign marked “unemployment” from which they plummet to their doom. This cartoon depicts the future problem of unemployment for today’s graduates and the hardship that might be faced by younger generations.
Although college students and graduates of today’s society are better educated than those of the earlier times, they will be faced by a dreaded lack of employment. This will leave many of the smartest individuals searching for work and trying to convince the same employers who are now laying off workers. I too might have to face this growing problem after college along with many other future college attendants. This will prove to be a tremendous struggle if this problem is not fixed now. New career programs should be established and other government supported prgrams should be put into action to fix this growing problem.
