In this cartoon, we see an airplane control tower that resembles The White House, as well as several planes on the ground and one taking off. The two planes out front, labeled "economy" and "health care", have collided. The plane taking off appears to be doing so at a ninety-degree angle, and is labelled "debt." Childish remarks are coming from the airplane control tower. This cartoon is a parody of the incident at JFK airport where a child directed a plane's departure. Although America is supposed to be a sophisticated, progressing society, many of the events that occur in this country raise doubts about the future. Not too long ago, a man working as an air traffic regulator brought his son to work, even allowing the boy to direct planes and instruct pilots. This shows extreme irresponsibility on the parent's part. Air traffic controllers have to go through training before taking on their jobs. No matter what the parent told the boy, it couldn't possibly have been enough to compensate for the training required, not to mention the child's immature mind. No accidents occurred under the child's instruction, but this doesn't change the fact that something drastic could have happened. Parents should know which situations are suitable for their children, and which aren't. A parent with faulty judgment, who makes the stupid decision of letting his small child play "air traffic controller," should never have had a kid at all.
