This heart felt cartoon needs no explanation as it merley displays Olympic figure skater, Joannie Rochette, engraving a heart into the ice. On the top left the title recites "OLYMPIC MOMENT: Joanna Rochette Skates For Her Mom.. ", giving credit to the Olympian for literally putting her heart on the ice simply 2 days after the death of her mother.
Although, Candaian Figure Skater, Joannie Rochette, was to compete on her home soil, her happiness would soon turn into sorrow. Two days before the competition Joannies mother Therese had died of cancer. Though she was supposed to be praticing for the greatest moment of her life, she and her father returned to their home village that Sunday morning to be with family. Through her tribulations she still competed and placed 3rd in the competition. This cartoon is a wonderful representation of what Joannie accomplished , not only potraying the engraved heart, but the heart that she herself engraved into the ice for her mother.
