In this cartoon an airplane labled Haiti Quake Relief is located on a runway unloading giant snails. This airplane also has a lighting bolt on it signifying the swift delivery of the necessary supplies. On the contrary, the snails symbolize the extremely slow distribution rate of the supplies to those who are in need of them. Although the response to the crisis in Haiti seems under control since the proper supplies are constanly being sent, it is only seen like this from an outer perspective. Unfortunately, inside the country these materials cannot be distributed as quickly as they are needed due to many obstacles such as destroyed roads, gang activity and a lack of transportion capable of reaching the civilians. Simply put, the methods used in distribution are way too slow. However, it is possible for this distribution speed to increase if the nations contributing supplies used different methods such as entering from the Dominican Republican or by dropping the supplies in parachute containers.
