GOP stands for Grand Ol' Party and is another common name for Republicans.
I agree that considering the views of the Republicans when it comes to the MediCare and Social Security of the elderly will cause destruction. Increasing MediCare premiums only to decrease the benefits of MediCare is arbitrary; Many senior citizens depend on Social Security benefits so decreasing them will leave many of them in the wind. Overall, I agree with the message the author of this cartoon is relaying.
