The cartoon shows Obama, walking away from a bottle of oversized ink with a ladder in his hand. At the rim of the ink bottle is a sign that reads "Blame Bush." The cartoonist is calling attention to Obama's recent State of the Union Address where he blamed Bush for the current state of our economy. Obama clearly stated that in the 8 years before he took office, government spending was not budgeted causing him to inherit the consequences. The president plans to implicate several acts of reform, hoping they will benefit the long-term fiscal picture of our economy. I do not agree with the issue presented in the cartoon; Obama didn't blame the prior administration for the present financial situation of our country, he simply stated facts.

This was late and thus will receive a 1. A few notes for the next cartoon:
1. The first paragraph here does not clearly explain the cartoonist's criticism of Obama - be sure you point out the cartoonist's message in the first paragraph each time you respond to a PC.
2. The thesis statement is fairly effective, though it is a bit unclear that you are stating an opinion - it reads as a fact. An effective edit might read "Obama clearly stated that in the 8 years before he took office, government spending was not budgeted; he inherited a budget that was not balanced, and this is why the country is so far "in the red," not because of anything Obama himself has done".
