2. Use an adverbial clause in a compound-complex sentence discussing Chillingworth's action at the end of The Scarlet Letter. When Chillingworth arrived, Hester Prynne stood up, and they started arguing.
3. Use a dependent clause of your choice in a sentence about Pearl playing in the graveyard. Identify which type of clause (adverbial or adjectival) you have used. When Pearl was in the graveyard, she tripped over a rock. (adverbial)
