simple sentence: My dog ate my homework. Maria dated my homework.
compound sentence: My dog ate my homework, but i turned it in anyway. Maria pooped on the table, and we kicked her out.
complex sentence: I ate the meal that you cooked. When he handed in his homework he forgot to put his name on it.
compound-complex sentence: Laura forgot her friends birthday, so she sent her a card when she finally remembered. Though Sue prefers watching romantic films, she rented the latest scary movie, and she enjoyed it very much
