In this political cartoon, we see President Obama sitting on top of the word hope boldly written and in ruins, with the H broken and fallen to the ground in what seems like a desolated area, all alone with frustration and failure displayed on his facial expression. In his hands he holds a newspaper entitled ''Obama Agenda Divides Nation.'' The cartoonist's "The Presidency; First Year, usage of imagery depicts a sense of hopelessness, frustration and failure from Obama's insight of his own Agenda. Due to the present crisis and economic downfall that we Americans face today, from my perspective Obama is doing the best that he possibly can to set American back on its feet so as to walk again towards economic success. But it's only with the support of the people that he can follow on with his dream for America.
