In the cartoon, a group of men are in a cemetery, carrying a giant book titled, Ex Libris, to be buried six feet under next to a waiting priest. The gravestone is engraved with the word 'print' and in the top left corner it questions whether it is the final chapter. As much as I hate for it to be true, it is very probable that hardcover and paperback books will be obsolete; just as cassette and VHS tapes are practically obsolete now, replaced with CD's and DVD's, which are soon going to be replaced with Blue Ray. Its inevitable, the only question is when. I, personally, do not think it will be anytime soon. While the iPad maybe be the next new trend, and thousands of people are going to buy it with money that they don't have, it will not make books obsolete. I believe it will be a slow process because it would have to start from the publishers to the millions of bookstores all over the world, and then, at least a few years later, the libraries. So, is it the finial chapter? No, I believe that there are many chapters that are still left to be read.
