 In the cartoon we see a pirate taking donations over the phone for Haiti, and there's a treasure box full of gold that says "phony charities"; this explains that there is many that don't have scruples and will take advantage of the disaster in Haiti to make money. Many people need to be careful about we're they may be donating their money to, they may have good intentions in donating but that doesn't mean that the money is going to the right place. Red cross is a well known and safe place that you could donate and the money will get to Haiti. There could be many fake ads on the newspaper or any other place that could say donations but are just lying for their profits. |
