In this political cartoon, a landscape scene is depicted of Haiti after the recent earthquake. The entire cartoon is barren and in ruins. Towards the left of the picture in a boxed section of destruction a title stating "Act of God". Towards the right side of the picture an image of an outstrecthed hand coming from the rubble. Above him is a silhouette image of Uncle Sam strecthing his hand to help whoever is buried under the rubble. Above this scene another title is stated, "Act of Humanity" A great sense of empathy is conveyed as shifts from sadness to hope are made. I'm personally affected by this because many people I know that are Haitian and have people in Haiti have been killed, injured, become homeless, and are in need of help. In times of adversity like these, it's necessary to have someone there to help people. And even though it may take much time and effort on our part, I agree that America can be the nation to help.
