Kennedy Seat LossIn this political cartoon, we see the symbol of Democratic party, a donkey. Its hind legs have crumbled and its body is cracking. In the ashes of the hind legs, we see Coakley about to fall and join Corzine and Deeds. The cartoonist is trying to convey the message that the Democratic party is failing. The recent losses in the Democratic Party tipped the Congressional number to favor the Republicans. Corzine and Deeds lost their campaign for governor, and Coakley lost her campaign for the Senate seat. I agree, as a result of this, that the Democrats are losing power and falling apart. This will cause stress for President Obama, a Democrat, since he will not have a majority of Congress on his side. It will be harder for him to pass bills and he will receive more criticism.
