Complex: David, being smart, fixed his computer with no problem. Amanda, being very annoyed, punched David in the face.
Compound: David played solitaire; Amanda did all the work. The students slept; the teacher lectured.
Compound-complex: As David played solitaire, and Amanda did the work, Mr. Wells explained a funny clip. While Amanda punched David in the face, and David winced in pain, the ambulance laughed at his broken nose.
