Purpose and Meaning
1)We have all heard the expression "like mother,like daughter", it seems appropriate to refer to Annie and her mother with just that mentality "like mother,like daughter".Annie's mother influences her in copious ways. With her mothers quirky remarks and ambiguous beliefs that people are "capable of taking, a stand",that being consistently implemented in Annie's head transfers over in her writing of "An American Childhood".
