In this cartoon president Obama is standing on top of the White house holding a paper that says first 10 days. Next to him there is a giant monster asking Obama if he can get makeover. This monster represents the economy of the united Sates. The monster also asks if Obama was the messiah. This probably refers to the chosen one to clean up all the mess made by Bush. Obama has a smirk on his face which leads you to believe thats maybe this is a joke to him.
Over the past 8 years President Bush has in some ways wrecked our country. Whether it was sending troops into Iraq from arresting and assassinating Saddam Husein, many of the dilemmas the United States face are blamed on Bush. Obama comes into the election and becomes the next president. People all over are saying he can bring us out of all the problems. Many pout hope into Obama when we really don't know what he is capable of thus the monsters comment when he says "Didn't they call you the messiah". They refers to the press or the citizens of the U.S. The monster is the economy of the U.S and has grown so big and ugly that it might be bigger than Obama can handle in his first 100 days as president.
