Tab (Thomas Boldt), The Calgary Sun, 12/03/08 In this cartoon there are two mall security gaurds locking up. On the wall it says "Mall" and "Come again". When you look outside the mall window you can see tons of people outside. They look angry and some of them have money in their hands waiting to break through the glass. One of the security guards looks towards the people and points to his watch. The other says, " 'Twas the night before Christmas..". I have never been to the mall on Christmas Eve, but i bet this is exactly what the outside of the glass would look like. People waiting on the outside, ready to attack the first person who got into their way. The guards should be scared for their life because those people are like savage beasts. It has been crazy this year, with all of the crowds of people standing waiting for department stores to open before the sun even comes up. It is disturbing to know that a man in New York died after being trampled by people at Wal-mart. He was jsut simply doing his job, but little did he know, that would be the last thing he did do. People are so careless and do not pay attention to who they are hurting or what they are even doing. Taking people's lives just to get a good price on clothes is just plain ridiculous. This kind of thing makes you wonder how bad it will get next year.

Great analysis! I was getting a little worried that you didn't grasp the full concept of it, but when you mentioned the part about the guy getting trampled at Wal-Mart you proved me wrong. It’s ridiculous how people can be so careless, and what shocks me the most is that they all seem so upset with the fact that the mall is closed. No one really appreciates the true meaning of Christmas anymore; it's not about presents, it's about the remembrance of Jesus Christ's birthday. Therefore they should take those angry looks off their faces and sit down and read a bible!

Wow we both picked similar topics. Its even more creepy how we both seemed to think of the man who was killed after being trampled on when the doors to Wal-mart were opening. I likes your analysis, you seemed to hit every point and even adding on examples like the man who died was a good idea. As well as you I’m worried how bad the shopping spree will be next year. Is a bargain really worth all this madness?
