Randy Bish, Pittsburgh, PA -- the Tribune-Review This cartoon is all about the holidays coming up and shows how early stores prepare for them. The cartoon has a boy going up to a cashier and telling him "Your store is playing Christmas music and it isn't even Thanksgiving". This is due to the early sales and preparation of holidays coming up which happens every year and not only this year. The man replies "Big deal. Stop in tomorrow and buy some candy for your valentine." The cartoon has a lot of representation that they are indeed selling Christmas item due to the reef on the counter and the Christmas tree in the back. This article is clearly satirizing the fact of how early stores set up for upcoming holidays. Majority of the time, when I go to stores, there are holiday supplies set up months in advance. I remember when I went into Walgreens around Halloween time; they already had Christmas items being stocked up. This is so unnecessary and weird how they set up so early. Not necessarily Valentines Day when Thanksgiving is here but that is the humor of the cartoon. This cartoon, to my knowledge, is satirizing nothing but the truth.

Great work analyzing the cartoon. You did not, however, keep the second paragraph completely argumentative. You lapsed between creating an argument and analyzing the cartoonist's intentions.
40/50
