Robert Ariail, The State, South Carolina In this political cartoon we see soon to be former president, G.W.Bush giving president elect Barrack Obama a tour of what appears to be the White House kitchen. The kitchen is filled with horrible odors that are originating from the refrigerator, sink and garbage can. In the refrigerator Wall Street is represented by a smelly fish, the economy, by a carton of rotten milk, the banks by spoiled leftovers, the housing market is in the sink, credit on the chopping block, and consumer confidence in the trash can. G.W. Bush looks to Barrack Obama and says,” you know that old saying, ‘to the victor belong the spoils?’” The argument of this cartoon is that when Barrack Obama moves into the White House and officially becomes the president of the United States of America, he will essentially have to clean up the mess Bush made in America. It’s no secret the amount of damage that President Bush has allowed to happen while he just idly stood by and watched, and that it will now be the job of the next president to undo or change what has been done. Metaphorically the economy and Wall Street will have to replaced with fresh ones, the housing market like the dirty dishes in the sink will have to be washed and cleaned in order to return to what is once was, and consumer confidence will have to be restored and taken out of the garbage.

Good work, Danielle. Some of your syntax is a bit clunky, and this detracts from the overall effectiveness of your piece.
Great reply to a classmate.
