In this article one can clearly see President Elect Barack Obama and current president George W. Bush speaking. George Bush is introducing Obama to all the problems Bush has caused and he uses the saying, "To the victor goes the spoils". In the picture one can see many spoiled items, all of which have a major problem written on them. Housing, credit, consumer confidence, banking, economy and wall street are all part of the spoils.
One would assume that George Bush is happy to get out of the white house after all the problems he has caused. With all the hype for the president elect George Bush probably just wants to get out of the white house. Everything that he has done has to be fixed and who better to make responsible than President elect Barack Obama. At this point the United States is just waiting for Bush to leave so we can begin rebuilding the United States. Yes, I did say rebuild because it's almost as if we have taken steps backward rather than forward. When Bill Clinton left office the United States was no longer in debt. Now, eight years later, the United States is in more debt than ever before. On top of that, the economy is down the drain which causes poor credit and a terrible real estate situation. It's almost like a domino effect. General Motors has suffered as well. Due to the price of barrels of oil going up, the cost of gas is going up. Due to the cost of gas going up, GM has to spend more money to make more fuel efficient cars. Maybe it's a good thing that Bush is finally passing his problems on to somebody else. Let's face it, the U.S. is in a crisis and somebody needs to fix it, and fast.
