Matt Davies, The Journal News In this political cartoon we see a large man, who is likely at a car dealership, standing next to a sign that says "High Fuel Prices". The large man says to the car dealer in reference to the small hybrid car set in between them, "I'm ready to trade my SUV for one of these... but how will I ever fit?" The corresponding picture shifts slightly and we see that the car dealer is also standing next to a sign, except his sign says, "Food Prices", with an upward arrow next to the phrase. To which the large man replies, "Oh.", in obvious understanding. This political cartoon could not be more correct; as a result of the high gas prices the man has decided to purchase a hybrid vehicle since the mpg for a hybrid are significantly higher than that of a gas guzzling SUV. However, even though with a hybrid you save money on gas, the hybrid is also significantly smaller than the usual spacious SUV, and the fact that the man is quite robust in size could pose a problem, to which he asks the dealer "...how will I fit?" The corresponding picture with the sign that shows food prices rising, insinuates that the ridiculous increase regarding the cost of food will cause the man to eat less, thus resulting in his losing weight, and therefore enabling him to fit inside the car.

Good, though as with many of your classmates, you continue your analysis of the cartoon into the second paragraph; little argument to be found.
