In the political cartoon, a gaggle of Palin supporters are congregated with signs, t-shirts, posters, banners, and even balloons that have phrases such as "We love Palin!" or "McCain" written on them. The group obviously supports Palin and McCain. Then, a couple walks by, and one says to the other: "'Saturday Night Live' cast members...” Of course Saturday Night Live supports Palin; some of their most popular skits are the ones where Tina Fey acts as Governor Palin. She does a great portrayal of the governor and it doesn’t hurt that she resembles her, too! Tina Fey’s skit acting as Governor Palin brought the “biggest audience since 2002.” - showhype.com/story/snl_sees_its_ratings_soar/
Ratings have soared for the variety show. When I heard Michael Phelps was to be on SNL (“Saturday Night Live”), I decided to watch the show for the first time. However, it wasn’t the poorly done skits that held my attention after that night. What made me want to watch more was the now renowned skit in which Tina Fey acted as Sarah Palin. Their resemblance is uncanny, and ever since the skit ratings have soared. It comes to me as no surprise that the cast of SNL “supports” Palin. Her blunders and folksy speech is what is making the show so well rated. Everyone is watching it because the skits are so realistic. If you were to compare parts of the skits to Palin’s interviews, you’d have to admit the accuracy is astonishing. Hopefully ratings won’t plummet when the election months are over although I have a feeling they might if the skit is discontinued.
