Ed Stein, The Rocky Mountain News, Colorado, 9/29/08 This cartoon shows two men gawking over what looks like an Apple iPhone. The man holding the phone says, " And this icon is the direct line to God!" The man he is showing the iPhone to responds, "wow! And here I thought the iPhone was being over-hyped!" Both of the guys look amazed as they stare at the phone. This is a funny cartoon because the iPhone does do so much for just being a cell phone. It has games, music, and even Internet connection. The phone was like a computer, mp3 player, and a cell phone all mixed into one small contraption. With all that stuff why not have an icon that is the direct line to God? It is also humorous when the the guy says he thought the phone was over-hyped because when the iPhone was first released it was. People were all excited for it to release and were fascinated by what it could do.

This cartoon is hilarious as it pokes fun at the iPhone. The phone is capable of doing so many tasks, almost too many. Its funny how they said there was a direct line to God, that’s practically the only feature the phone doesn’t have. She stated that the release of the iPhone was over-hyped, which was a good point. Many people where waiting outside Apple stores for days forming lines that stretched down streets as they awaited the day it would be accessible. The analysis was good but it could have been more in depth.

Oh my, this is a great overexaggerated cartoon of the iPhone. I do think that the iPhone is over done, mostly because I like simplicity. With the iPhone you have all the capabilitied of a phone, mp3, computer, and more all in one, wherever you go. The only think it doesn't have is the things that are litterally impossible, like a direct connection to God.

Good work, though analysis is lacking.
