In this political cartoon there is a little box in which 2 parents look calm sitting on their couch in a normal house asking their son if they can talk about his allowance. There is a newspaper next to them that has the words ''stock market tanks''. Tanks is another word for plummets. In the bigger box the parents are on their knees asking the son if they can have their allowance back because all the money they put in stock is either gone or depleting fast. The boy is smiling in the 1st box compared to the big box which he seems kind of confused that the parents need the allowance back. As the father is begging the boy the mother is in shock of the how low they have to go to get money. This cartoon is funny due to the fact that after the boy had received his allowance, his parents ask for it back. I used to get allowance a couple of years back before i had a job and i felt like the money from my allowance was mine because i deserved it. Having my mom or dad take it back would make me confused and sad that i had no money to spend on whatever i needed. This shows that the stock market is so bad that parents would stoop so low as to beg and plead to get money from their children. Stock is a big part of people's life and if it is taken away people will have to find other ways to get money to pay for stuff.
