This political cartoon shows a man sitting in a clearly broken down car. The way this car looks everyone can see by one glance that there is no way the car can drive. Next to the car is a man that apparently must deal with political matters according to his attire puts gas in the car and tell the confused driver to restart the engine. The car in this cartoon is suppose to represent finances. The driver is obviouly confused because no matter what youput into the car it is not going to start because of how bad of a condition it is in. My interpretation of this cartoon is that the politician is trying to make it seem like he knows what he's doing;the man is just sitting there looking at him like he's crazy because he knows there's no way in this earth the car is fixed. The finance car symbolizes the finances between families in america today. They have gone down drastically because the prices of things we need everyday has gone way up including food and gas. The government raises those prices but doesn't raise income which brings more of a struggle to people than they may have had before. While the government just sits back they try and make it seem like their doing something to help by saying things like their going to try to do certain things to cut the struggle of prices down. However, everyone can see that nothing is being done at the moment and if nothing is done things may just get worse.

Good work with the analysis and argument; reply to classmate contained 2 pet peeves (its vs. it's and I think).
