Bruce Plante, Tulsa World, Tulsa, OK This image shows Obama and McCain wrestling in the mud repeatedly saying ''lipstick''. Next to McCain and Obama are two pigs staring at them. The pigs are saying to each other ''So this is how they choose the leaders of the Free world'' and the other pig says ''you can dress them up, but they will still be politicians'' The pigs are dirty with their feet in the mud while the politicians are dressed up nicely outside of the pig pen. The pigs saying this is how they choose the leaders of the free world are implying that the election is a sport or a game .That the election is not to be taken seriously. The other pig says you can dress them up, but they will still be politicians refers to Obama's statement ''You can dress a pig up, but they will still be pigs''. Obama means that a pig is still ugly even if you put makeup or accessories on it. The pigs are saying that politicians are ugly people, even though they may not seem like it because they are dressed up. McCain also made a statement ''you can put lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig''. McCain and Obama are fighting over the whole situation of Obama saying a pig will still be ugly with lipstick, and McCain thought he could distract the media by accusing Obama of directing that statement toward Sara Palin.

Good work; much of your 2nd paragraph is a continuation of your analysis of the cartoon.
