Steve Nease, Oakville Beaver, 8/19/08 In the illustration there a pig sitting in a puddle of mud. In its left hand is a stick of lipstick and on its head sit a hat with the American flag on it. "U.S style politics" is written on across its chest. While giving her acceptance speech Sarah Palin makes a joke saying "You know, they say the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick." Recently Obama made a comment along the same lines "You can put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig." McCain's campaign insists that Obama was talking about Sarah Palin even though at the time Obama was talking about "change" not Governor Sarah Palin. The pig covered in filth in the picture represents politics in America and how politicians often play dirty. I have to say that I agree with the cartoon. Many of the tactics that I have been seeing from both parties are nasty and childish. If Barack Obama was talking about change at the time he said the lipstick on the pig comment then why would you accuse him of talking about Sarah Palin? Everybody can see that this is just a way for McCain to make Obama look like a sexist pig, but McCain also used the lipstick on a pig comment when talking about the economy. The candidates should focus their attention on something that is relevant like say.... the failing economy instead of battling over comments that isn't going to help solve any of our problems.

I find it rather funny that McCain would call Obama sexist. He said the exact same thing about Hilary Clinton. What makes it even worse is that Obama wasn't even referring to Sarah Palin. This seems like a weak attempt by McCain to get the media to focus on something besides the matters at hand. John McCain has been what many call, "way off", on interpretation of the economy. Somehow this pig business is still carrying on and taking some of the attention off of the problems in the U.S. and putting it on a harmless remark.
