J.D. Crowe, Alabama -- The Mobile Register 09/18/08 This cartoon shows a student who just graduated falling into a "black hole." The student says, "I was reaching for the stars when I fell into this black hole." At the very center of the black hole it says, "Job Market." This cartoon is aimed at the recent problem of graduates falling into the "emptiness" of the job market. Students are graduating without a set career path or no career at all. The years they spend studying go to waste as they enter the "real world" with no job. Although there are many desired occupations already filled, there are still jobs "out there" that pay quite well. The problem is that it might not be the student's "passion." Many students are seeking to find the "dream job" they've been waiting and studying for their whole lives, but the truth must be faced: these jobs may already be filled by other people and you can't have them fired just because you want the job. When it comes down to it, no one can live happily- or at least somewhat happily- without having the adequate amount of money to pay bills and still have leisure spending money. Although it may seem unjust to see someone else with your "dream job" that you worked hard to try to achieve, times have changed and people are just going to have to face the problem head-on. Ultimately, people are going to need the money and they are going to have to find a job that they weren't exactly hoping for.

Jobs are extremely hard to find nowadays for a couple of reasons. The main reason jobs are hard to attain is because of the prices on just about everything are going up, so people are in dire need for employment to pay for the costs of living. I almost completely agree with you when you say, "no one can live happily- or at least somewhat happily- without having the adequate amount of money to pay bills and still have leisure spending money." The reason why i don't fully agree is because there are some people who are optimistic and can live happily knowing that they don't have enough money to pay the bills. It is never certain how someone feels about their lifestyle, But yes, most people could not live happily without having the money to pay the bills and have extra money to pay for other necessities.

I agree with what both you and Chelsea have to say about the diffulty to find a job. It seems as though the more prices increase in gas and other everyday necessities, the determination to find a job is becoming almost impossible. Many places attain waiting list in which the desired employee can put their name on . In some places like Publix your name can be on the waiting list for up to five months until you get that call that you are hired. The more prices increase the longer and harder it is to aquire a job.
